Lasers and Organ Preservation: Tech Innovations Unveiled

Traditionally, freezing organs has posed a major challenge due to the formation of ice crystals, which can cause irreparable damage. However, a recent study demonstrated that pig kidneys can be supercooled to -4 °C (25 °F) and remain viable for several days. This breakthrough allows for the kidneys to be stored and eventually reimplanted, marking a significant advancement in organ preservation techniques.
