Meanwhile, in an intriguing development in scientific research, Japanese scientists have successfully created female clones from male mice embryos using a groundbreaking CRISPR-based method. By removing the Y chromosome from male cells, the team achieved a significant milestone, which could challenge long-held beliefs about the necessity of both genders for reproduction. Takashi Ishiuchi, a reproductive biologist involved in the project at the University of Yamanashi, emphasized that this advancement could not only alter the understanding of reproductive biology but may also provide innovative solutions for conserving endangered species, especially when populations are critically low.
